Mr. Rein Andre, B.A.
Manager, Hazardous Materials Group

Mr. Andre is the Manager of Facilities Remediation Services at DCS and has over 15 years of consulting experience. He has particular experience in the evaluation of structures for  asbestos-containing materials, mould infestation, designated substances and hazardous materials. Mr. Andre also has considerable experience in remediation projects including scope of work determination, preparation of tender documentation and technical specifications, project tendering, and contract administration.

He has managed abatement projects for a wide variety of clients including the City of Toronto, Simcoe County District School Board, Halton District School Board, Halton Catholic District School Board, University of Toronto, Victoria University, Public Works and Government Services Canada, Toronto Public Library, North York General Hospital, Toronto Catholic District School Board and others.

Some of Mr. Andre’s recent projects include:

  • the pre-demolition investigation for designated substances and remediation of asbestos-containing materials for several Toronto Catholic District School Board buildings,
  • site investigation for designated substances for film shoot locations,
     
  • inspection and remediation of mould infestation for 150 portable classroom structures for the Halton Catholic District School Board;
  • the survey and assessment of asbestos-containing materials in 43 buildings with an aggregate floor area of over 2,000,000 ft.2 for the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board.
