Mr. Ted Chart has been involved in the field of solid, hazardous and radioactive waste management since the early 1960s. Before forming DCS, he was President of MacLarentech Inc. and of the MacLaren Group, one of Canada’s oldest and largest environmental consulting engineering firms.  Mr. Chart was, until recently, President of DCS.  On his retirement he maintained his affiliation with the company and provides consulting engineering services on a frequent basis.

He has extensive experience in site characterization and remediation engineering dealing with radioactive, organic and inorganic contaminants, soil and groundwater. He has been responsible for numerous site investigations, remedial action plans, decommissioning programs, regulatory approvals, as well as construction management and direction of multidisciplinary projects.

• Typical projects for which Mr. Chart has recently been responsible include:

• Phase I and II environmental site assessments for the Molson Plant site in Toronto;

• conceptual design of sanitary landfills for the Islands of Nevis and St. Kitts in the West Indies;

• environmental investigations, closure plans and Section 46 Approvals for a number of historic landfills;

• Phase II environmental site assessments for the 120 ha former Shell Canada facility in Oakville;

• environmental evaluation of the former Greenwood Racetrack property;

• environmental evaluation of the former Inglis plant site and neighbouring properties; and

• several environmental assessments of properties throughout Ontario owned or operated by the Federal Government.
