Mr. Barry Cooke has more than 25 years of domestic and international consulting and construction experience in the fields of mine tailings management, environmental site assessments, industrial decommissioning and remediation, field explorations, and geotechnical studies for civil infrastructure, commercial and industrial buildings.

Recent projects that Mr. Cooke has been responsible for include:

  • Phase II environmental site assessments for the 29 ha former Inglis Plant site and neighbouring properties;
  • site characterization and risk assessment studies for several former industrial properties in the Toronto Portlands;
  • conceptual and detailed design of engineered controls to separate leachate toxic flyash from future users of a 1.2 ha site, thereby facilitating beneficial use of the property;
  • Phase II environmental site assessments and remediation plans for an 8 ha site in uptown Waterloo which featured extensive contamination of the groundwater by PCE from a former dry cleaners;
  • site characterization of the 20 ha Railway Lands West for CityPlace;
  • Phase II environmental site assessment and remediation of the 12 ha Foster Wheeler Plant in St. Catharines;
  • site characterization, hydrogeological modeling and remedial technology evaluation for a 350 ha site in Rajasthan, India, underlain by groundwater contaminated with H-acid; and
  • geotechnical investigations for several institutional, residential and commercial properties across southern Ontario.
