Mr.
Wayne J. Cormack, M.Eng., CIH Vice-President
Mr.
Wayne Cormack is certified in comprehensive practice by the American
Board of Industrial Hygiene and holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial
Hygiene from the University of Toronto. He has more than 20 years
of consulting experience with specific expertise in assessment of
worker exposure to chemical and physical hazards, preparation of
health and safety plans for site remediation projects,
asbestos management,
investigation and remediation of mould, infection control during
projects in health care facilities
and indoor air quality assessment.
Some
of the recent projects that Mr. Cormack has been involved in include:
- development of the scope of work for surveys of designated substances and hazardous materials in buildings at CFB Downsview for Public Works and Government Services Canada and the Department of National Defence. Prepared summary disclosure and remedial cost reports based on review of survey reports prepared by other consultants;

investigations to determine the presence and extent of mould growth
in federal government buildings for Public Works and Government Services
Canada;
- provision of mould investigation and remediation oversight services on behalf of insurance company clients;
- an
asbestos risk assessment study at the Brandon and Selkirk
Thermal Generating Stations for Manitoba Hydro;
- assessment
of site conditions and remedial options for an abandoned
asbestos mine at Clinton Creek in the Yukon Territory;
- inspection and testing for mould and overseeing
restoration contractors in hospitals to ensure proper
"infection control" and containment practices
are followed and to monitor airborne mould;
- development of health and safety protocols and documents
for the remediation of low level radioactive waste in the Malvern
residential subdivision of Scarborough;
- surveys, assessments
and remediation of asbestos-containing materials in several institutional,
commercial and industrial properties across Ontario.
